Neurotoxin Treatment Options:
Our West Ashley medical spa certified nurse injectors use neurotoxins to soften wrinkles and fine lines to create results that look natural and preserve the expressiveness of your face. Getting the desired results from neurotoxin treatments requires a knowledgeable injector who understands how much is needed–and where–to address your specific concerns.
Botox®
Botox® Cosmetic is a prescription medicine that is injected into facial muscles and used to temporarily improve the look and restore a youthful quality to the face. Botox® is designed to treat dynamic wrinkles that are caused by continual frowning, squinting, and furrowing of the brows. It relaxes the facial muscles around the eyes and brows, preventing them from contracting and causing wrinkles. Botox has enabled thousands of our patients to enjoy a smoother and more youthful facial appearance.
Dysport®
Don’t let your frown lines between your eyebrows define you. For adults who want a natural look, Dysport is a natural-looking, fast-acting, long-lasting, prescription injection proven to help smooth moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows—without changing the look or movement of the rest of your face.
Xeomin®
Get the same effects that Botox® provides at a much lower cost. Xeomin® is made through a unique precision manufacturing process called XTRACT Technology™, that uses two filtration steps to isolate the therapeutic component of the molecule and removes the complexing/unnecessary proteins that don’t play an active role in treatment. Xeomin® is a double filtered neurotoxin. Head-to-head studies evaluating the relative risk of immunogenicity due to the presence or absence of complexing/unnecessary proteins have not been performed.
Dermal Fillers Treatment Options:
Dermal fillers are used to reduce the appearance of lines, wrinkles and folds in the face, create plump lips (lip augmentation or lip enhancement), as well as to restore the cheek volume lost over time—one of the major signs of aging. Other uses include improving the appearance of the nose, chin and jawline (”liquid nose job,” “liquid rhinoplasty,” “liquid chin augmentation”), contouring the face, softening the appearance of depressed scars, and restoring firmness to the earlobes.
The most popular dermal fillers are made of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a type of sugar found naturally in the body. It is one of the main substances that makes skin plump and firm. There are different formulations of hyaluronic acid (Juvederm®, Restylane®, Belotero®), each with their special properties and indications. Many times a combination of dermal fillers – layering them – gives the ultimate result!
Restylane®
Used to add volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds). Great for fine lines, lip augmentation, and softening the circles under the eyes.
Belotero®
Belotero® Balance is a hyaluronic acid injectable filler designed to integrate into facial skin tissue. The unique manufacturing process for Belotero® yields a soft and cohesive gel that is perfect for the areas around the eyes.
Juvederm®
JUVÉDERM® is an injectable gel that is used in areas of facial tissue where moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds occur to temporarily add volume to the skin, especially around the nose, mouth, and cheeks. Great for softening the nasolabial folds (the folds running from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth), contouring the face, and plumping the lips.
REVANCE RHA® Collection
The RHA® Collection is made with a gentle manufacturing process that helps preserve the natural structure of the hyaluronic acid, allowing it to more closely resemble the natural hyaluronic acid in your skin. There are three formulations in the RHA® Collection, and our nurse injector will help you determine which one is best for your treatment plan.
REVANESSE® VERSA™
Revanesse® Versa™+ is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler that can be used to treat moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, including nasolabial folds, and enhance facial volume.
REVANESSE® VERSA™ Lip+
Revanesse® Lips™+ is an FDA-approved hyaluronic acid dermal filler that can be used to restore lost volume and create a fuller-looking lips.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do neurotoxins work?
Wrinkles result from a combination of many factors. It’s not just about cellular changes that can occur over time, reduction of collagen, or damage caused by free radicals in the sun and the environment. Botox®, Dysport® and Xeomin® target one of the underlying causes of fine lines, frown lines, and crow’s feet: the repeated muscle contractions from smiling, frowning, furrowing, and squinting over the years. Your certified nurse specialist will inject these muscles with the neurotoxin to temporarily reduce muscle activity.
What should I expect with neurotoxin treatment?
You may begin to notice results within 24 to 48 hours for moderate to severe frown lines, with results lasting up to 4 months. Injections are a technique-sensitive treatment: you should not lose the ability to show expression when you are treated by someone who is licensed, trained, and a medical expert in facial anatomy.
Are the results of dermal fillers permanent?
Although long lasting, no hyaluronic acid filler is permanent. Depending on the type used and the location placed, you may need touch up injections anywhere from several months to a year or more. For some uses, such as lip augmentation, repeat treatment may be needed sooner.
How soon can I get to my daily routine?
Treatment requires minimal downtime or recovery; it’s often called a lunchtime procedure. You’ll be able to go about your normal routine immediately after you leave the Spa.
Some patients report that being injected feels like a pinch. Your specialist may use ice to numb the treatment area. If you are concerned about discomfort, your specialist may apply a topical numbing cream before administering your treatment.
The actual injection process takes about 10 minutes.
Your specialist will discuss your treatment goals and perform a facial analysis to determine the appropriate treatment areas for you.
What are the cost considerations?
Your cost not only includes the price of the product, but more importantly, the skill and expertise of the specialist or healthcare professional who is administering your treatment.
